Everything feels so different this week since losing my sweet Lucy, but life must go on…especially when you have another dog that depends on you. Fred and I have been taking long walks, experiencing how different it is with just the two of us after 12 years. I often feel sad on our walks, missing Lucy and wishing she were with us, but Fred is a funny character and he keeps me amused. As we meandered through my neighborhood this wintry grey morning, he showed infinite patience as these pops of red caught my eye and compelled me to pause for a moment.
