I got out for a rare mid-day ride today, and came home and tweeted this:

For many reasons, I’ve not been riding. No details necessary, but suffice it to say that some reasons are legitimate, and some not-so-much − including the fact that I’ve not made it a priority in my schedule the past several weeks. I’ve let other things take precedence, which only leads to an unwelcome pattern of less riding and increased feelings of blah.

I love you bike

It wasn’t exactly my best effort today, but I felt good when I got home. I turned on some music before starting to work again. Before long, a song came up that got me thinking. I only have one person to blame for not riding: me. I can keep letting other things get in the way or I can put riding back at (close) to the top of my list of stuff that needs to get done. Yep, it’s…

Nobody’s fault but mine.

Of course, they weren’t talking about time management when they recorded this song back in 1976, but those four words resonated with me today.

The universe can’t give you more time. You need to take what you already have and run with it. Or in my case, ride with it.

Thanks boys.
